Matheson, lawyers of choice for international companies and financial institutions doing business in and through Ireland, advised Eaton Corporation on its $11.8 billion acquisition of Cooper Industries plc.

The transaction, which was approved by the boards of both companies, closed at the end of November 2012.

Eaton Corporation is a US-based power management company, while Cooper Industries is an Irish-headquartered electrical equipment supplier.

Under the terms of the agreement, a global power management company, to be named Eaton Corporation, will be incorporated in Ireland.
