The Companies Act 2014 (the "Act") has been signed into law and is expected to become operative on 1 June 2015.  The Act brings welcome consolidation and modernisation of existing Irish company law and is expected to make it easier for companies to do business in and through Ireland.

All existing private limited companies must convert to either the new model private company (LTD) or a designated activity company (DAC) by 30 November 2016.  We are now advising clients to consider the conversion options available and the below two-page guide sets out in simple terms the choices involved for Irish companies.

Matheson will be assisting all of our clients in ensuring that the transition across to the new regime is as smooth and efficient as possible.
