Matheson Congratulates The Irish Fairy Door Company on WMB Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award

The Women Mean Business (WMB) Conference and Awards 2017 took place today at the Shelbourne Hotel, with the Irish Fairy Door Company being named the Matheson Female Entrepreneur of the Year.

Congratulating all those involved, Liz Grace, Partner at Matheson and WMB Ambassador for Gender Diversity 2017 said

“Taking the time to stop and acknowledge the fantastic work of female entrepreneurs is very important. In keeping with our firm values of diversity and entrepreneurship, Matheson is delighted to be supporting and celebrating Irish female entrepreneurs.  I would like to congratulate not only Aoife and Niamh from the Irish Fairy Door Company but the finalists in all categories for their inspiring work.”

The Irish Fairy Door Company is also shortlisted for this year's EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

The finalists in the Matheson Female Entrepreneur of the Year category included:

Sinead Fitzmaurice, Co-founder, TransferMate
Geraldine Gibson, Founder & CEO, AQMetrics
Aoife Lawler & Niamh Sherwin Barry, Co-founders, The Irish Fairy Door Company
Charlotte Temple, Retail & Design Director, Magee 1866

Tara Doyle, Head of Asset Management at Matheson, was part of the judging panel for this year’s awards commented on the tough decisions that had to be made -

“There were great stories to tell in every category making our job as judges extremely difficult.  However decisions had to be made and winners crowned and I think all those involved this year can be extremely proud of their achievement.”

The Tánaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald opened the event at which Sinéad McSweeney, VP Public Policy and Communications EMEA and MD Twitter Ireland gave the keynote speech.
