We advise banks and other financial institutions on an ongoing basis in relation to the preparation of appropriate template documents for the purpose of lending transactions, receivables financing transactions, mortgage products and a variety of other credit related products as well as in relation to standard form documents for bank accounts.  We also, together with Matheson’s Regulatory Risk Management and Compliance team, advise banks and other financial institutions in relation to compliance with obligations under legislation relating to credit reporting, credit servicing, risk retention, consumer protection, loans to consumer and SME borrowers and similar matters.

Representative transactions include:

  • We have advised a number of banks which have entered the Irish market in relation to the preparation of a suite of appropriate template customer facing documents including loan and security documents, terms of business and terms and conditions for deposits
  • We have advised an Irish bank in relation to becoming a participant in the EURO1 and STEP 2 payment systems
  • We provide opinions in relation to compliance with rules relating to own funds requirements and the treatment of debt issuances for regulatory capital purposes
