Matheson Announces Sponsorship of the Irish Family Business Awards

AUTHOR(S): Paraic Madigan, John Gill
DATE: 05.04.2019

Matheson has announced its partnership with Ireland’s inaugural Family Business Awards. The Family Business Awards showcases the best of Irish family businesses and highlights the impact of these businesses, nationally, in their local communities and beyond. The inaugural awards will take place at the Mansion House on Friday, 24 May.

Commenting on the partnership, Paraic Madigan partner and head of our Private Client Department said;

"We are delighted to partner with The Family Business Awards and in particular to sponsor its Family Business Longevity Award. In our practice we recognise that the day to day challenges in running a successful business often overshadow the long term strategic need to have and implement an orderly succession plan. A clearly documented plan which is understood by all stakeholders is key to that successful transition".

Matheson for many years has been the trusted advisor to families who own businesses. We are aware of the particular challenges facing family businesses on matters of succession planning and corporate governance.  We work in conjunction with our corporate and tax colleagues with the relevant parties at different stages of the life of a family business to advise on transactions and future planning initiatives.

As a leading private client legal and tax advisory team within one of the largest commercial law firms in Ireland, we are uniquely placed to assist family businesses on the full range of issues that might impact them.
