Matheson marked Global Data Protection and Privacy Day on 28 January 2013 with a breakfast seminar that looked at proposed new EU legislation and how it may affect businesses that operate in and through Ireland. The guest speaker was Billy Hawkes, the Irish Data Protection Commissioner. Other speakers included John O'Connor, head of the Technology and Commercial Contracts Group at Matheson and Partner Anne-Marie Bohan.
