Matheson’s Helen Kelly, Partner and Head of the EU, Competition and Regulatory Law Group, has been named as one of the world’s top 100 lawyers by Global Competition Review in its Women in Antitrust 2016 publication. Helen has expertise in EU and Irish merger control advising on Phase I and Phase II investigations as well as advising on a range of other competition issues including dominance and cartels, State aid and public procurement. Helen is the only Irish practising lawyer on the global list.
Commenting on her inclusion, Helen said, “I am very pleased to have been included in this list of the world’s leading antitrust lawyers by Global Competition Review. This recognition by Global Competition Review and the expertise enjoyed by the competition team at Matheson means that we are very active on Ireland’s most significant deals, competition investigations and law suits.”
Matheson’s EU and Competition practice is consistently ranked as one of the leading practices in Ireland. Our lawyers advise on the most significant corporate transactions involving Irish and international companies. The success of Matheson's market-leading practice has been recognised recently by Mergermarket, where the firm achieved a 64% increase in total deal value as against 2015, with deal value totalling in excess of $36.5 billion in 2016. The increase in the firm’s deal volume is particularly striking, in the context of the overall reduction in the number of deals which took place in Ireland last year.
