Matheson is delighted to announce that it will deliver its first virtual Summer Internship Programme in partnership with online platform provider, InsideSherpa. Matheson is the first law firm in Ireland to offer such an internship, which will allow students to experience life at an international law firm by simulating daily tasks and interactions.
The programme takes an innovative approach to online learning by replicating an on-site internship experience through webinars, training sessions, virtual assignments and project work. Each task and instruction is delivered by Matheson legal professionals, creating a virtual interpersonal workplace environment. Interns will be assigned a trainee buddy, experience workshops with Matheson’s Managing Partner, Partners and Heads of Business Services over the two weeks to learn about #LifeatMatheson.

The programme enables Matheson to continue its commitment to providing the opportunities and training students require to pursue a career in law, despite the current uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 crisis.”
Matheson also offers a number of other graduate programmes such as the Career First Programme which has also been adapted to utilise technology to facilitate online learning. The 12 month programme, which is designed for first-year undergraduate students, provides a comprehensive insight into how an internationally focused firm operates through workshops, work placements, and client training days. In line with the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, 50% of the places are reserved for students who are on either the HEAR or the DARE scheme in their universities.
