Matheson advises the shareholders of Pathfinder on the sale to Sia Partners

AUTHORs: Brian McCloskey Date: 03/07/2020

Matheson recently advised the shareholders of Pathfinder, an Irish consulting group, in connection with the acquisition of the company by the global management consultancy firm Sia Partners.

Founded in 2005, Pathfinder provides consultancy services in respect of change programmes and organisational transformation, project delivery and data analytics. It advises and supports its clients in realising their business objectives and developing their capabilities in becoming more customer centric and to increase their competitive advantage. With 40 consultants in its Dublin headquarters, along with a further 10 consultants in its UK office in Edinburgh, the investment by Sia Partners is expected to assist greatly in the further growth of the business.

This transaction, which was brought from commencement to conclusion almost entirely during the current COVID-19 restrictions, shows that even in the current environment, there is still an appetite amongst large international corporate buyers to transact in Ireland, particularly where there are strong strategic reasons for investing into Ireland’s open, internationally focussed, economy.

Pathfinder was advised by a cross-departmental Matheson team led by Corporate M&A partner Brian McCloskey and senior associates Enda Garvey and Robert Maloney-Derham.

“We were delighted to work with Mike, Gary, Lawrence and the rest of the Pathfinder team on this transaction. Pathfinder has built up a market leading reputation in the consultancy sector and this transaction will provide a platform from which the team can accelerate the growth which they have experienced over a number of years.”
