The Matheson PSL Faculty delivered its Spring 2018 Horizon Scanning Update in Matheson recently. Aidan Fahy, partner in our Tax Department, chaired a panel discussion on current and upcoming legal and regulatory developments affecting corporates, banks and investment funds. The panel comprised Bronagh Maher and Nikki Foley, members of the Matheson PSL Faculty, together with Patrick Spicer, partner in our Corporate Department.
Keeping up to date with new and proposed legislation and regulation is an ongoing challenge for businesses. The Matheson PSL Faculty monitors and analyses proposed and upcoming Irish and EU legislative and regulatory developments, to determine the practical implications for our clients. This process of “Horizon Scanning” enables Matheson, and our clients, to identify future risks, threats and opportunities and to plan ahead.
This was the first in a series of quarterly Horizon Scanning Updates to be delivered by the PSL Faculty, as part of the Matheson Knowledge Insights series. Each update will focus on on upcoming and proposed legislation affecting particular sectors or areas of law. The Summer 2018 Horizon Scanning Update will focus on new and proposed property, planning and tax legislation affecting the real estate sector.
