Matheson is delighted to announce that the firm has been awarded ‘Employer of the Year’ at the Women in Finance Awards Ireland 2021. The Employer of the Year category recognises financial services companies that have demonstrated great efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive working environment and achieve equal gender representation at all levels.
The Women in Finance Awards series aims to redress the gender imbalance by showcasing the achievements of women in the sector and by identifying new role models. This growing awards series acts as a flagship and high-profile platform to support the industry in its mission to move the dial on gender balance.

Matheson was shortlisted across a number of categories at the Women in Finance Awards Ireland 2021 including ‘Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Initiative of the Year’, ‘Outstanding Contribution of the Year’ and ‘Legal Adviser of the Year’.
Congratulations to Catriona Cole, Caroline Austin and Michelle Ridge who were all shortlisted in the Legal Adviser of the Year category. This category recognises the lawyer who has broken down barriers to advancement in their firm and in the wider legal sector, and who has paved the way for diversity in leadership. We are delighted that their professionalism and leadership has been recognised through these awards. Each of them are ambassadors for Matheson’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
