Matheson advises Zoom Video Communications, Inc. on its acquisition of Workvivo

A Matheson team led by David Fitzgibbon (Corporate M&A partner), John Coary (Corporate M&A senior associate) and Darren Quinn (Corporate M&A solicitor), supported by a broad Matheson team including Vahan Tchrakian (Tax partner),  Siún Clinch (Tax associate), Carlo Salizzo (Technology and Innovation partner), Conor Doyle (Technology and Innovation solicitor), Bryan Dunne (Employment partner), Ellen Nolan (Employment senior associate), Darren O'Reilly (Employment solicitor), Niall Collins (Competition partner), Simon Shinkwin (Competition senior associate), Karen Sheil (Property partner) and Karen Reynolds (Litigation partner), working alongside a team from Cooley LLP, is delighted to have recently advised Zoom Video Communications, Inc., on its acquisition of Workvivo, a Cork-based employee communication and engagement platform.

Founded in 2011, Zoom (NASDAQ:ZM) is publicly traded communications technology company, headquartered in San Jose, California. Workvivo was founded in 2017 and since then has been a true Irish success story. It provides a modern, feature-rich employee experience platform, combining advanced internal communication and engagement tools, a social intranet, and an employee app, all blended into one central hub, forming the heart of a company’s digital ecosystem. Workvivo’s offering has seen triple-digit growth in the last three years and is used and trusted by hundreds of customers worldwide, including some of the world’s most well-known brands. With this strategically important acquisition, Zoom adds to its capability to provide a market leading end-to-end collaboration platform focused on enabling modern work and powering the digital-first workplace. Zoom intends to incorporate Workvivo’s capabilities into its platform to further strengthen its existing employee experience offerings.

David Fitzgibbon, Co-Head of Matheson's Corporate practice and Head of M&A commented:

“It has been a pleasure working again with our colleagues in Cooley LLP to deliver a successful outcome on this transaction for Zoom Video Communications, Inc. Matheson's market leading M&A team, which has advised on more cross-border transactions and transatlantic deals than any other Irish law firm over the past 5 years, makes us uniquely positioned to partner with our clients to successfully deliver these types of transactions, something which we were delighted to do for the Zoom team."
