We are pleased to have advised Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) on its majority investment in Simply Blue Energy (OSW) Limited (Simply Blue), an offshore wind development company headquartered in Cork, Ireland.
Matheson worked alongside Freshfields London and Tokyo teams in advising KEPCO on this matter.
Simply Blue has various interests in offshore wind projects, including fixed-bottom and floating offshore projects, primarily across Europe. The transaction marks KEPCO’s first investment into offshore wind and forms part of its expansion in renewable energy under the Kansai Electric Power Group Zero Carbon Vision 2050.
