Marie is a partner and Head of the Technology and Innovation Group at Matheson.

A recognised leader in the technology sector and in data protection, Marie’s expertise is in technology regulation, including AI, outsourcing, commercial contracts, information law, and data protection.

Marie also brings extensive experience in cyber security, crisis management, intellectual property, and consumer law.

Garret is a partner and head of Matheson’s Energy, Infrastructure and Construction Group. Garret is also a member of Matheson’s ESG & Sustainability Group.

He advises on all aspects of energy, natural resources, utilities and infrastructure projects and project financing, from PPPs to privately-financed electricity and gas developments and privatisations as well as electricity, gas and telecommunications network infrastructure.

Garret specialises in particular in the areas of electricity and gas market regulation and trading.

Sally Anne is Head of the Real Estate Department at Matheson.

She is an accomplished and commercially focused lawyer with over 15 years’ experience in acquisitions and disposals across all asset classes; site development; commercial landlord and tenant; real estate investment, commercial real estate aspects of corporate transactions, including the sale and purchase of both private and public companies; and advising owner/occupiers on the acquisition of office, industrial, manufacturing, and technical/data centre premises.

Owen is a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure and Construction Group.

He advises on project development, project financing, energy M&A and energy regulatory matters.

He has experience advising on all types of energy projects, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, energy storage, biomass, hybrid projects, renewable gas and conventional generation.

Robert is a partner in the Corporate M&A Group. Robert advises on all aspects of corporate transactions (both domestic and international) including mergers and acquisitions (both strategic and private equity), shareholder arrangements, growth equity, equity fundraisings, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations and restructurings and general commercial matters.

Having previously worked in New York with a leading US corporate law firm, Robert has particular expertise in large-scale domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, acting on both the buy-side and the sell-side in a variety of industries and sectors.  He is one of the go-to advisors for international financial sponsor investors transacting in the Irish market and has considerable experience across a number of industry sectors including real assets, infrastructure, engineering, technology and business services.

Cillian is a partner in the Real Estate Department at Matheson and is a member of the CRE Secured Lending and Insolvency Group at Matheson.

He is an accomplished and commercially focused lawyer and practises in all aspects of commercial property law.

Cillian advises both domestic and international lenders on all property aspects of real estate security from the taking of security through to the enforcement of same. He also has considerable experience in general commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals and commercial landlord and tenant work.

Hilda is a partner in the Real Estate Department at Matheson, with extensive experience in transactional and advisory work across all sectors.

Her experience includes sales and acquisitions; commercial leasing including retail, office and industrial leasing; development projects in respect of office, industrial and data centre buildings; and landlord and tenant matters.

Muireann is a partner in the Finance and Capital Markets Department.

She advises a range of Irish and international clients, including financial institutions, corporate borrowers, developers, investors, government departments and state bodies. Her practice encompasses all aspects of syndicated and bilateral lending, to include project finance, real estate and development finance, corporate and acquisition finance, and green and sustainable finance.

Project finance is a particular focus of Muireann’s practice, and she has advised many of the prominent financial institutions and sponsors in the energy and infrastructure market. She is also a regular speaker and panellist at industry events.

Prior to joining Matheson, Muireann practised at another large Irish law firm where she was also a partner.

Maeve is a partner in Matheson’s Disputes and Investigations Group, specialising in planning, environmental and safety law. Maeve has advised on a wide variety planning cases as well as non-litigious planning and environmental matters. She advises clients in relation to the full project lifecycle, anticipating regulatory challenges and aligning legal strategy with project goals.

Leonie Dunne is a partner in the Real Estate Group at Matheson and a member of the firm’s Development Land Group.

Leonie practises in all aspects of commercial real estate law, advising on acquisitions, disposals (assets and loans), leasing and licensing of properties.  She has a broad range of experience advising on the development, sale and leasing of mixed use and residential developments.

Laura is a partner in Matheson and has over 10 years’ experience in commercial real estate law, advising clients on some of the largest and most complex real estate transactions in the Irish market.

Laura has particular expertise in advising owners and operators of data centres in Ireland and has advised on the acquisition, disposal and letting of such assets over the last 10 years.

Conor is a partner and head of Matheson’s Infrastructure and Construction team, a sub team of our Energy, Infrastructure and Construction Group.

Conor advises on large-scale infrastructure, construction and energy projects, with specialised experience in contract negotiation, risk allocation, development structuring, financing, transactional  matters (including due diligence and transaction document negotiation), corporate law matters and operational advice (including regulatory issues and operational problem solving).

Mary Liz is a partner in Matheson’s Energy, Infrastructure and Construction Group.

She has over 15 years experience acting for stakeholders in resolving challenges and mitigating risks through the full life cycle of construction projects.

Aidan Fahy is a partner in the Tax Department and advises on all aspects of corporate taxation including the structuring of domestic and international reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions and the tax consequences of doing business in and from Ireland.

He also advises on cross-border financial planning, property transactions, employment related taxes, and insolvency related issues.

Aidan advises on personal taxation and represents high net worth individuals and owner managed businesses.

Ruadhán is a partner in Matheson’s Disputes and Investigations Group, with a broad commercial litigation, arbitration and permitting and environmental / ESG practice.

He advises clients on the avoidance, management and resolution of a wide variety of disputes including in connection with commercial, real estate, construction, tax and competition matters.  For permitting and environmental matters he supports clients in bringing projects through the entire life-cycle, from concept through to operation and disposal (including advising on surrender / closure requirements or sales as appropriate).  He has also advised on permitting and environmental issues in some of the largest transactions in Ireland in recent years.

Sandie is a partner in Matheson’s Corporate Department. She advises on international and domestic mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements and joint ventures, venture capital, corporate reorganisations and restructurings.

Sandie represents public and private companies, institutional investors and financial intermediaries engaged in a variety of industries and sectors including technology, energy and media.  Since 2022, Sandie has been the resident Corporate partner in Matheson’s London office.

Brian has spent more than twenty years advising international companies, in both the UK and Ireland, on corporate law matters including public and private company M&A, private equity transactions, equity fundraisings, reorganisations, joint ventures, refinancings and general commercial matters.

Brian has particular expertise in cross-border M&A and private equity. Brian has experience across a range of sectors acting for both buyers and sellers. Brian also counsels corporate clients on a broad range of governance and business-related matters, including directors’ duties and responsibilities and general compliance matters.
