Matheson’s Structured Products team advises international financial institutions and corporations involved in arranging and executing structured product transactions both in and from Ireland.
The team draws extensively on the specialist skills and technical expertise from the Finance and Capital Markets Department, the Tax Department and our International Listings team. We provide an unrivalled depth of resource, knowledge and experience in the Irish market. Matheson’s Structured Finance and Securitisation team is rated Tier 1 for Structured Finance and Debt Capital Markets by Chambers Europe, the Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
We advise leading international investment banks in relation to a number of established repackaging programmes as well as arrangers, issuers and managers on all other forms of structured product and exchange traded product (ETP) transactions including public and privately placed bond issues.
Such transactions involve all types of assets, including indices, equities, fund units, commodities, precious metals and cryptocurrencies. The nature of the structured product transactions usually involves advising on the taxation, regulatory and capital markets elements of cross-border structures and results in our working closely with arrangers, originators and law firms in jurisdictions throughout the world. It is the pooling of these diverse skills in a practical and innovative manner that enables us to maintain and develop our leading position in the international structured products market.
Our International Listings team assists with obtaining listing approvals for such transactions on the Irish Stock Exchange plc, trading as Euronext Dublin, the Vienna Stock Exchange, the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange, The International Stock Exchange, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Euronext Milan and Deutsche Boerse. For approvals under the Prospectus Regulation (EU and UK), we also arrange for approval from the Central Bank of Ireland, Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, as necessary.
