Pat English is a Partner in the Corporate Department at Matheson. He is head of the firm’s market-leading International Business Group and co-head of the Firm’s US Business and Inward Investment Groups.
Pat is a highly experienced corporate lawyer focusing primarily on advising overseas clients on establishing operations and doing business in and from Ireland.
Experience and Education
Pat has experience advising:
- international corporations on establishing their Irish operations and is standing corporate counsel to numerous international corporations in respect of their Irish operations.
- Fortune 100 US corporations on group-wide international restructurings and leading international corporations on the Irish legal aspects of substantial pre and post merger and acquisition reorganisation, integration and consolidation projects.
- international corporations on the provision of ongoing strategic advice and counselling, including in relation to cash and dividend repatriation strategies.
Pat previously headed up Matheson’s New York office for a number of years during which he established his reputation as a “go-to” Irish corporate counsel for US companies doing business in and from Ireland. He continues to be a regular visitor to the Firm’s US East and West Coast offices to spend time with his extensive client base in those locations.
