Matheson advised private equity fund The Riverside Company “Riverside” on its acquisition of Netwatch, an Irish based private security company which supplies cutting edge commercial and residential video surveillance to customers across Ireland, the UK and the US. Announced by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on 23 April 2018, the acquisition was simultaneous with Riverside’s concurrent acquisition of US based National Monitoring Center and CalAtlantic, as well as UK based Onwatch, to form Netwatch Global. The new combined Netwatch Group group is set to become the global leader of the video surveillance industry.
Brian McCloskey, Corporate M&A Partner at Matheson said:
“We are delighted to have successfully completed this transaction with Riverside. Netwatch is a wonderful example of an indigenous Irish company with global ambitions and we look forward to being part of that journey with Riverside. This transaction is another great example of Matheson's private equity expertise. Since 2010, we have advised on more private equity buyouts than any other Irish law firm.”
Laura Dillon, Principal at Riverside said:
“We are very grateful to the support we received from Matheson on what was our first platform acquisition in Ireland. The strength in depth of the Matheson team was evident throughout the process and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
