Matheson LLP is delighted to have won the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative award at the prestigious People in Law Awards 2025, held in London on Thursday, 1 May 2025.
Matheson received the award for, The Matheson Creativity Hub in Memory of Tim Scanlon, which honours our former Chairperson, colleague and friend. This initiative was created in partnership with IMMA – the Irish Museum of Modern Art – an organisation which champions creativity, innovation, and community engagement. Designed by internationally renowned design practice, Studio Makkink & Bey, the Matheson Creativity Hub at IMMA underlines our dedication to diversity and inclusion and to the arts - two core pillars of our Impactful Business Programme. It combines exceptional architecture and design to provide a welcoming and inclusive space that inspires creative engagement and promotes social connectivity for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
The judges said that the Matheson Creativity Hub has helped dismantle physical and social barriers that can prevent people entering museums and art spaces. The scale of community engagement is truly impressive – families, schools and numerous marginalised communities and local groups have all utilised the facility provided by this firm.
The People in Law Awards, which are celebrating their eleventh anniversary this year, recognise the very best people achievements across the legal industry, and Matheson's entry was up against those from some of the largest law firms in Europe and the UK. We are proud to be the only Irish law firm to be shortlisted in any category.
