Date: 30/06/2025

Finance and Capital Markets partner, Lisa Tait, named Rising Star at the Women in Business Law EMEA AWards 2025

Matheson LLP is delighted to have won the Ireland Law Firm of the Year award for the second year in a row at the Women in Business Law Awards, EMEA 2025.  Special congratulations also to Matheson's Finance and Capital Markets partner, Lisa Tait, who won the Rising Star, Banking and Finance award.

The Women in Business Law Awards celebrate women lawyers who are leaders in their respective fields.  They also recognise firms for their efforts in promoting gender diversity and the advancement of women in the legal profession.  The diverse categories are designed to recognise the growing talent pool of women in law in the 'Rising stars' category, to celebrate women leaders in their field in the 'Practice area' awards and to acknowledge strong and innovative practices and programmes that highlight women and diversity.

Congratulations also to the eight Matheson lawyers who were shortlisted:

Category shortlist – Lawyer of the Year

Category shortlist – Rising Star

  • Banking & Finance - Lisa Tait, partner
  • Litigation - Emma Trainor, senior associate
  • Tax - Anna Crowley, senior associate

Commenting on the awards, Michael Jackson, Managing Partner at Matheson said:  To have retained the Law Firm of the Year Award is a wonderful recognition of Matheson’s continued dedication to service excellence, our commitment to investing in our people, and our promotion of a diverse and inclusive workplace, where all of our colleagues’ contributions and perspectives are valued and respected.

The recognition of so many of our female lawyers, and across a significant number of practice areas at this year’s awards, is testament to their innovative thinking, their leadership skills and their legal expertise.  I congratulate all of those who were shortlisted and give special recognition to Lisa Tait for her achievement in receiving the Rising Star award in the Banking and Finance category.”

Following Matheson’s recognition as one of the most innovative firms in Europe earlier this week, these awards are further evidence that Matheson’s strategy of being the law firm of choice for internationally-focused companies and financial institutions doing business in and from Ireland continues to drive our success.“
