Sarah is a partner in the Asset Management Department at Matheson.

She practices financial services law and advises many of the world’s leading financial institutions, investment banks, asset management companies and service providers carrying on business in Ireland or through Irish vehicles.

Sarah’s experience includes advising a wide range of domestic and international clients on the structuring, establishment, marketing and sale of investment vehicles and products across the full range of investment strategies and asset classes.

Sarah has completed secondments with two large asset managers in Dublin and London respectively.

Sarah is a member of the Family and Working Parents Committee within the Diversity & Inclusion pillar of the firm’s Impactful Business Programme.

Experience and Education

Sarah’s experience includes advising on:

  • The establishment of alternative investment funds, including hedge funds, multi-jurisdiction master-feeder structures, funds of funds and credit funds.
  • The establishment of UCITS, ranging from long-only equity funds, bond funds, multi-asset funds, through to complex and alternative UCITS strategies.
  • The implementation of the sustainable finance legal and regulatory framework, including the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the Taxonomy Regulation and the launch of ESG-focused funds.
  • The establishment and ongoing operation of money market funds, including advising on the Money Market Fund Regulation.
  • Irish Shariah investment funds.
  • The establishment of ETF platforms, as well as the introduction of ETF share classes in non-ETF funds.
  • Obtaining regulatory approval for non-EU domiciled investment managers to act for Irish funds.
  • Advising AIFMs and UCITS management companies on applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Admitted as a solicitor in Ireland – 2016
  • University College Dublin, BCL, Law with Politics – 2012
