Matheson recently advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (“CIP”), on the launch of Perigus Energy, following the completion of CIP’s acquisition of Ørsted’s European onshore business, through its fifth flagship fund, Copenhagen Infrastructure V (“CI V”). Formerly part of Ørsted, the business takes on a new name, identity and ambition as Perigus Energy.
The transaction completed on 30 April and includes Ørsted’s full European onshore portfolio of wind, solar and BESS projects in Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Spain.
Following the acquisition Perigus Energy has a total operational and under-construction capacity of 826 MW, plus a multi‑gigawatt development pipeline across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain. The acquisition adds a fully integrated, multi-technology onshore business to CI V, which will allow Perigus Energy to accelerate renewable energy deployment across Europe.
The large multi-practice team was led by Corporate M&A partner Enda Garvey and Head of the Energy, Infrastructure and Construction department Garret Farrelly.
